One night, my neighbors and I were out in our front yards staring up at the starriest night sky any of us could ever remember having seen. It was odd and magical, and lured us away from our televisions to look at it, though none of us knew why.
Suddenly two strangers appeared, literally out of the blue. Nobody saw where they came from, but Lester said he heard an odd popping noise and they just appeared in front of him. Lester is known as a teller of odd tales so nobody believed him at first, but none of the rest of us saw a thing either. It was as if they appeared out of thin air, which makes no sense I know, but I have no other explanation.
None of us had ever laid eyes on them before, and they were obviously not from around here. They acted as if they had every right to be here though, walking down our street casually as can be, like a normal person walking their normal dog. Except I swear that I could hear the dog talking as they passed me, but I’m afraid to tell the others in case they look at me funny.
At the end of the street, they seemed to disappear into thin air again. We all just stood out in our yards, speechless. Nobody wanted to admit what we had all witnessed, so we went back inside to watch another show.
